The horizontal line is the classic powder coating layout — and the sensible entry point if you do not have a 9-metre-tall building or the volumes that justify a vertical plant. Aluminium profiles (and sheets) travel on a conveyor through sequential stations: surface pre-treatment, drying, an electrostatic spray booth with powder recovery, a 180–220°C curing oven and a cooling zone. The full process cycle takes 18–20 minutes.
Two arguments favour horizontal over vertical: entry cost and versatility. A horizontal line fits a standard 5–6 m production hall, costs a fraction of a vertical installation, and comfortably handles work that a vertical line struggles with — sheets, unusual sections, short runs, machined parts. The honest flip side: hanging and unloading profiles is manual work, so you need more people per coated tonne, and throughput sits well below the 800–1200 t/month a vertical plant achieves. Actual capacity depends on oven length, booth count and racking practice — parameters we size during the project stage.
We configure the line for your plant: maximum profile length, number of booths (fast colour change calls for a second booth), firing on natural gas, LPG, diesel or electric, and a layout drawn to your floor plan. Since we sell both layouts — horizontal and vertical (US spelling: aluminum powder coating line) — we have no interest in steering you toward either; send your hall dimensions and target volume and we will price both options. The factory-standard line requires EU conformity work on guarding and safety circuits — we state the scope and cost of that work plainly in the offer.

Applications
Powder coating of architectural and industrial profiles, aluminium sheets and sections; base coat for wood grain sublimation; job-shop coaters with a varied product mix.
Who it is for
Extruders starting their first in-house coating plant, job-shop coaters replacing worn-out installations, plants whose building height rules out a vertical line.
FAQ
How much does a horizontal powder coating line cost?
Indicatively €80–200k EXW depending on line length, booth count and automation level. The range is public — the exact quote is prepared for your hall dimensions and target volume.
Horizontal or vertical?
Horizontal: lower entry cost, a normal 5–6 m hall, versatility (sheets, short runs). Vertical: 800–1200 t/month with 2–3 operators, but it needs an 8.5–9 m building and a several times larger budget. We sell both — send your hall data and we will price both options.
Can it serve as the base coat for wood grain sublimation?
Yes — powder coating in the base colour is the first step of the wood-grain process. We design the coating line and the sublimation machine as one production flow.
