Sublimation transfer film and protective film arrive as wide master rolls — but every profile needs a strip of a different width, matched to its cross-section perimeter. The film slitting machine (slitter-rewinder) cuts a wide roll into narrower ones sized exactly for your product mix: less film waste, no waiting for pre-slit rolls from a converter, and the ability to react to tomorrow's order today. In wood-grain sublimation that difference shows up in the cost of every tonne of profiles.

The machine takes rolls up to 1600 mm wide and slits them with 300 mm blades into strips of the widths you set, rewinding onto new cores. Two versions are available: manual — the simplest and cheapest — and automatic with touchscreen control. It runs on 380 V with a 1.5 kW drive and measures 2.1 × 0.76 × 1.11 m — a bench-class unit that fits in any packing area. It handles plastic films (transfer, PE/PVC protective, PEVA welding film) as well as papers, including laminated grades.

This is one of only four machine types from our manufacturer with an issued CE certificate, which makes it — alongside the ultrasonic film welder — the formally simplest purchase in our range. Its natural companions are the sublimation machine on the finishing side and the film taping machine on the packing side — the slitter prepares rolls for both. We also supply transfer and protective films as consumables, so the whole chain from master roll to film on the profile stays with one partner.

FAQ

How much does a film slitting machine cost?

Indicatively €6–15k EXW: the lower end is the manual version, the upper end the automatic one with touchscreen control. It is one of the least expensive items in our range and a common first purchase before a bigger investment.

Is the CE certificate genuine?

The manufacturer holds an issued CE certificate for this machine — one of only four machine types in their range with one (alongside the PA66 strip extruder, the ultrasonic film welder and the sublimation machine). Before any transaction we verify the certificate scope and the issuing body, and we show you the document rather than just the sticker.

Is in-house slitting worth it versus ordering pre-slit rolls?

For sublimation — almost always. Pre-slit rolls mean a converting surcharge, minimum order quantities per width and lead time. With your own slitter you stock wide master rolls and cut to current jobs; with several widths in rotation the machine typically pays for itself within the first year.
