PET strapping for aluminium profile and ingot packing
PET (polyester) strapping is the modern substitute for steel strap on heavy loads — in an extrusion plant it secures profile bundles, ingot pallets and finished packs before loading. Unlike steel it does not rust, leaves no corrosion marks on profile surfaces, and a strap cut under tension releases safely instead of whipping back like a blade — ask anyone who has cut steel banding off a pallet.
The numbers that matter for this material: a melting point around 260°C, elongation roughly one-sixth that of PP strap — so the pack behaves almost as if it were steel-strapped — and long-term tension retention: a bundle strapped at the factory in China arrives in Europe still tight. The strap stays flexible in the cold rather than turning brittle, which matters for sea freight and winter yard storage. A V0 flame-retardant (self-extinguishing) grade is available to order — required for battery-module packing and increasingly checked in customer audits.
We supply the strap in coils across the full range of widths and thicknesses, with embossed or smooth surface, transparent or opaque, in green, black or custom colours. It runs on standard battery-powered or pneumatic friction-weld tensioning tools; we match the strap cross-section to your pack weights and the tools you already own.
This is a consumable, so we handle it like a supply partner rather than a machinery dealer: you order by the pallet, the manufacturer's warehouse ships within 2–3 weeks, and the best economics come from adding strap to a container already carrying your packing machines — the freight then costs next to nothing. We publish no single price because none would be honest: cost depends on cross-section and volume, so we quote per coil or per tonne for your exact size. Send us the dimensions of the strap you use today and we will return a quote with samples.

Applications
Strapping aluminium profile bundles after packing, ingot and billet pallets, steel loads, ceramics and glass; securing packs for sea and road transport in extrusion plants, casthouses and service centres.
Who it is for
Extrusion and packing plants ordering consumables together with packing machinery (container top-up), companies moving away from steel strap for safety and corrosion-mark reasons, buyers looking for a steady, cheaper PET strap source.
FAQ
How is PET strapping priced?
By coil or by tonne, depending on cross-section (width × thickness), finish and volume — which is why there is no single price on this page. The best rate comes from pallet quantities shipped as a top-up in a container with your packing machines. Send the size you currently run and we will quote it with samples.
Can PET strap really replace steel strap?
For aluminium profile bundles and ingot pallets — yes, with clear gains: no rust marks on profiles, safe cutting, lower weight. PET elongation is about six times lower than PP, so the pack stays as tight as with steel banding. Steel remains the choice only where a customer specifies it or edges are extremely sharp.
What tensioning tools do I need?
Standard PET strapping tools — battery-powered or pneumatic with friction-weld sealing. If you already strap with PET or PP, your current tools will most likely do; if you are switching from steel, we will help select tools and strap cross-section for your pack weights.
What are the logistics and lead time?
Dispatch from the manufacturer's warehouse within 2–3 weeks. We ship by the pallet; when you buy packing machinery we load the strap into the same container, which brings freight cost close to zero. For regular buyers we set up recurring deliveries matched to consumption.
